The production required diverse South African locations to create immersive survival journeys for Netflix's interactive series You vs. Wild. The brief called for forests, rivers, coastline and wilderness environments, alongside wildlife, helicopters, watercraft and specialist mountaineering support.
Stringbean Films provided full production facilitation from pre-production through principal photography. We coordinated helicopter and aerial services, watercraft, specialist mountaineering support and wilderness medics, while sourcing access to forestry areas and private properties. We also managed filming with a range of wildlife, including lions and cheetahs, alongside the complex logistics required to work safely in remote environments.
The production was completed successfully, helping deliver Netflix's groundbreaking interactive survival series. You vs. Wild went on to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Innovation in Interactive Programming, while the international production team praised Stringbean Films for its expertise in managing complex remote productions and challenging filming conditions.
